Best Mobile Phone Deals – Share your Price Plan deal!

There’s a lot of flex in the mobile phone market. Providers offer people all sorts of upgrades, reduced price plans and tariffs. It’s often really difficult to know if the deal you are being offered is the best out there.

I’ve heard lots of anecdotal stories ranging from very low monthly tariffs to free phones, laptops and more. Maybe you can tell us your mobile phone story. It doesn’t have to be iPhone specific, it can be about a tariff generally or a model.

Through empowering consumers, we can all get better deals!

  • Hi everyone,
My name is Holly from Vodafones Web Relations team. Our iPhone is launching 14th January and now available for pre-order http://bit.ly/4D5iZs, i ordered my 3gs this morning and I'm very excited.

I went for 1200 mins unlimited texts and unlimited vodafone to vodafone calls with a 1GB data allowance (thats double any other phone we do). Thats £45 a month with the handset free and its exactly the same for all customers (no staff perks)

VodafoneUK currently have a very strong 3g and 2g network and will be heavily investing in 2010 to make sure it only improves. As i dont get my device until the 14th i havent tested it yet but my previous experiance with Vodafone internet leaves me confident its going to be a great phone to have on Vodafone and i can't wait!

    All the best

    Holly

That sounds awesome Holly, thanks for stopping by and letting us know that. (I think you guys should get a discount though ;) )

It's exciting times for the iPhone marketplace, I'm sure we'll see a lot of changes going forward. I think the cap on 3G is a problem, as it becomes one of those things that could easily spiral and cause people monetary problems. Uncapped would be better!
  • I think this is a great idea - lots of things like this are shaded in secrecy and private conversations between a sales person at the provider company and the consumer in the middle. Usually it's word of mouth that helps inform people but far too often I'd say that's inadequate, simply because you might be listening to a terrible negotiator, someone who hasn't spent that much with the provider ( gets a poorer deal) or someone who's telling you big fat lies :D

It would be awesome to get a little commentary from say Vodafone or Tmobile or any of the other big providers to talk about the process. I don't know of any who publically publish how it all works, simply because if they did, then there power to apply discounts and maximise the best deals for them would be reduced.

    Transparency ftw!

My deal currently is with Vodafone UK. I pay £35 per month and get...you know what? I haven't a clue! I do know that last time I received an upgrade to a Samsung Tocca and had a reduced rate, free internet and 100 texts or something, but that was a while ago. I remember insisting on a 12 month deal though, so perhaps that was factored into what I got.

I'm soon to renegotiate so am keen to see what others are getting and have to say :)
